Old Man Captain - Tainan

Free cooked-to-order breakfast meant I didn't have to lift a finger in the morning. The WiFi in public areas was a lifesaver for all my important social media updates. So fancy!

Who needs actual hospitality when you can have robotic service and a lack of atmosphere? Just what I wanted in a hostel.

The room I stayed in at Old Man Captain was cozy and comfortable, with a kitchenette that had a fridge. I loved having the option to cook my own meals during my stay. The bed was super comfy and the shared bathrooms were always clean.

The only thing I didn't really like was that the bathroom was shared. Just a personal preference, but I know some people don't mind it.

The tour desk at Old Man Captain was incredibly helpful in planning our family's itinerary in Tainan. They provided us with great recommendations and made sure we didn't miss any of the must-visit attractions. The luggage storage space was also very convenient for us as we had a lot of bags. We were able to securely store our belongings and explore the city without any worries. Plus, the free WiFi throughout the property was a huge bonus for keeping our children entertained during our stay.

In my wife's opinion, the accommodation lacked a children's play area or any specific activities for kids.

Old Man Captain was a great place to stay during my trip. the location was extremely convenient, just a short walk from the train station. the staff was friendly and provided lots of helpful information. They even made me a drink for my birthday! the hostel had a cozy and local atmosphere, with the staff working hard and encouraging one another. If you need a place near the train station with luggage storage, Old Man Captain is the best option. Cons: Can't think of anything. 😊.

There were a couple of aspects that I didn't particularly enjoy. the air conditioning in the room was fixed and couldn't be adjusted.

The room I stayed in was amazing! It had a kitchenette with a fridge, which was super convenient. I loved that the room had a comfy seating area where I could relax and unwind. The shared bathroom had slippers and bed linen provided, making my stay even more comfortable. I appreciated having access to the shared bathrooms, it was clean and well-maintained. The double room even had a washing machine, which was a nice surprise!

Personally, I wasn't a fan of the shared bathroom. But I understand some guests might still find it acceptable.

The location was ideal, being near the bus and train stations, making it convenient for transportation. the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I particularly enjoyed the included breakfast.

We had a great stay at the hostel located near the train station. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The location was very convenient with bus stops and a 7-eleven nearby. It was perfect for our one-night stopover before catching an early train. The hostel had a nice, modern vibe and the rooms were comfortable. The breakfast may be basic, but it was sufficient. we recommend this hostel for a short stay in the area.
